Company Director/Producer

I am a television industry veteran with vast experience in live broadcasting. I started out at TVNZ in Christchurch as a sound operator and have grown my skills over an immensely satisfying career in video production.

After leaving TVNZ I joined TV3 in the Sports and Entertainment Department and worked on a huge variety of programming including the Rugby World Cup, the Melbourne Cup, magazine shows and light entertainment. I started Volt Media in 2006 because of my love of rallying and have been proud to grow the company from there.

I have enjoyed seeing the massive changes in the online media landscape and recognise the constant need to evolve with the times.

I thrive when problem solving under pressure and coming up with innovative solutions for my clients’ video production requirements. A huge part of this is building teams and bringing the best people together for wickedly successful outcomes.

Outside of work, I like to get involved with the very things that keep me excited about video production: sailing, motor racing, rallying, motorbikes and vinyl.

Company Director/Office & Production Manager

I am the company’s resident organiser and like nothing better than lists and complex excel spreadsheets. I can usually be found booking, scheduling and moving our team, from agile crews of 1 or 2 to a behemoth outside broadcast troop of over 30.

On top of that, I look after finance and floor and event managing in the field. I work with our clients from the start of the relationship to ensure that goals are met, and delivery expectations are exceeded. Business is in my blood as I watched my father take a small family plumbing supply shop and transform it to an immensely successful venture before retiring.

I obtained a Master of Arts from Auckland University a lifetime ago and have since then worked in a number of creative industries landing at TV3 in the mid 90s. Going from there, television and video production has been my focus and led me to becoming co-company director at Volt Media.

When not immersed in the business my interests tend towards mindfulness: yoga, gardening, a burgeoning houseplant collection and walking an extremely overactive bearded collie. See the Office Dog photo in our About Us page.

Editor/Graphics Designer/Camera Operator

Like the rest of the team, I am an all-rounder. My first love is being on location as a camera and drone operator but often I can be found back in the office editing our clients’ video content and creating kick ass graphics.

I graduated from Broadcasting School in 2016 and have been with Volt Media ever since, becoming an integral part of the team. I relish the creative and collaborative process of video production whether it be for the immediacy of live television or beautifully considered content for website landing pages or product videos.

Because of the nimble working environment at Volt Media I often work across all aspects of the video project which means we can really ensure that the original creative is carried through to the final product. Being a native tech user comes in handy as well. Outside of work I also love to be busy and involved. I enjoy music and have even built my own guitar. I play football most weeks and am often deeply immersed in building my own race car.

Office Pupperino

I run the show here at Volt Media. I keep these 3 on task. I take my job very seriously. I like to sleep under the desk of whoever might need the company the most - normally Dan who’s deep in an edit. I need my regular pats and I have to have a lunchtime walk. I expect to go for a trip in the car when gear needs picking up and I MUST welcome all visitors especially the courier drivers. I love those high viz vests.

When I'm not at work I like all the usual things: lots of long walks, frisbee in the backyard and treats... lots of treats.
